Stools-11.jpg

My name is Christian Wargo. I live and work in Los Angeles, CA.

I make one-of-a-kind, hand-made stools and furniture inspired by the American Craftsmen Movement of the mid-twentieth century:  most notably, the works of Wharton Esherick, who has been my personal hero since high school, but also contemporary craftsmen like George Nakashima and Sam Maloof.

My designs are informed by the materials I use; any unique grain structures or wild patterns are carefully incorporated, and lend themselves to the overall fluid shape of each object. All of my furniture is finished with oil or shellac. I don't use any dyes or stains so what you see is the natural color of the wood.

You can see everything I currently have for sale in my shop. Thanks for looking and please feel free to contact me with any questions or special requests.
